One thing I have learned over the course of my work with Infants and Toddlers is that when we are able to intervene with little ones we are essentially preventing future mental health problems. We are also preventing lifelong mental health issues from developing and occurring for them down later in life too! That is a bold statement, I know - but it’s a true statement.

We will cover how the following stressors may cause mental health problems for our little ones:

  • GeneticsTrauma

  • Domestic Violence

  • Dangerous Parenting

  • Chronic Stress

  • Insecure/Disorganized Attachment

  • In-Utero Trauma

  • Birth Trauma

  • Prolonged Hospital Stays

  • Unsafe/Traumatic Environment

  • Untreated parental mental health problems/trauma

  • Separation/Disruption in Relationships

  • Environmental and Psychosocial Stressors

I will also talk about how to prevent these stressors and what you can do about it as their primary caregiver. You don't want to miss this because I give some practical ways of being present for your little one in your daily routine/lives.

You will also hear from the baby's perspective where we talk about how to avoid the stressors that cause mental health issues for them!
